Auto-Free in Jewish Atlanta
History/Background

WHY THIS WEB PAGE EXISTS

When I first moved to Atlanta, I had no car. And it occurred to me that some other Jewish people (especially newcomers, students, and people physically incapable of driving due to age or disability) might not have cars. This page is for them, for those of you who are temporarily carless and wondering how to get around, and for those of you who simply wish to avoid having to increase air pollution once or twice a week.

My Background

Michael Lewyn, the author of this page, is an associate professor at John Marshall Law School. He has prayed at all but a few of the synagogues listed in this page (including all but one of the transit-accessible shuls), and authored "Auto-Free in . . . " web pages for Cleveland and Buffalo, where he lived before returning to Atlanta in 2000.
